Robert Earl Spears

Robert Earl Spears, 47, died Saturday, December 2, 2017, in Union County.  He was born in Ripley, Misssissippi, on November 10, 1970, the son of Vonnie Lee Eugene and Linda Lou Harris Spears.  He was a Baptist and an iron worker by trade.  Robert was a loving father and grandfather.  He enjoyed spending time and fishing with his granddaughters.  His favorite past times were watching sports.  He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Mississippi State University, and the Atlanta Braves.  He also enjoyed collecting anything he found to be interesting.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 1:00 P. M. at Oakdale Baptist Church in Hurricane.  Brother Bill Thompson, Brother Marty Merritt, and Brother Jim Wells will officiate.  Burial will take place in Glenfield Memorial Park.He is survived by his daughter, Samanthia Paige (Rhea) Stewart and her husband, Justin Wayne Stewart, of Thaxton; his mother, Linda Lou Spears of New Albany; three sisters, Linda Davis, Virginia Patrick, and Lou Anne Stevens all of New Albany; and four grandchildren, Journey Rhea, Jaeda Stewart, Jocelyn Stewart, and Braylee Stewart.Robert was preceded in death by his father; by a sister, Sandra Carwyle; and a nephew, Gary Paul Renfrow.
