Philip Arlen Hamra, 90, died peacefully on April 27, 2021. He was born to Muschell and Dorothy Hamra of Steele, Missouri, on July 9, 1930. Philip was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly Hamra; a sister, Virginia Hamra Harris; and a stepson, Patrick Hansen. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Hamra, of Cordova, Tennessee; stepson Michael Hansen; Daughter-in-law, Teresa Hansen; granddaughter, Jaclyn Houston (Jonathan) of Arlington, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren; his brother, Howard Hamra of Pekin, Illinois; his son, Philip “Skip” Hamra (Tracy) of Murry, Kentucky; and niece, Angela Bisceglia of Cordova, Tennessee. After graduating high school in Steele, Missouri, Philip entered the Naval Service and served a career of twenty three years, in Korea and Vietnam. After retirement, he moved to Memphis, Tennessee, and worked at the Defense Depot until 1989. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his friends. He also enjoyed deer hunting and in his later years took up bowling. He was an artist and enjoyed entertaining his friends with his drawings. Services will be at 3:00 P. M., Saturday, May 1st at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, Mississippi.
