Mavis "Sis" Grubbs , 90, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at Sunshine Health Care in Pontotoc. She was born in Pontotoc County on September 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Dudley and Arvella Benjamin. She married Bro. Jimmy Grubbs, they had been married 68 years when he died. She was a member of Pleasant Dale Baptist Church, where her husband pastored his first and last church. Mrs. Grubbs has spent the last nine years of her life at Sunshine Health Care. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Laney (Kenneth) and Robin Nelson (Billy) all of Pontotoc; two granddaughters, Lindsey Chapman (Warren) and Katelyn Nelson; two brothers, Danny Benjamin (Diane) and Lanny Benjamin (Annette); and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Paul Carpenter, a granddaughter, Bethany Nelson, and a brother, W. O. (Odean) Benjamin. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 4 P.M. until 8 P. M. at Friendship Baptist Church, 85 Friendship Road, Ecru, MS and from 11 A. M. until 1 P. M. Monday with her funeral service at 1 P. M., Monday at the Church. Brother Kevin Merritt will officiate, burial will follow in Warren Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kent Benjamin, Kevin Benjamin, Keith Grubbs, Brad McGregor, Tommy McGregor, Jake Hudson, Randy Horton, Heath Benjamin, Warren Chapman, and Hayden Inmon.
