Marjorie Ruth Bell, 90, died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Magnolia Place in New Albany. She was born March 12, 1927, in New Albany, the daughter of John and May Gement Cobb. Mrs. Bell, a lifelong resident of New Albany was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church; a retired accountant at Mohasco; a member of the Homemakers Club; and a member of the Second Half Club. She enjoyed quilting, reading, being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and she enjoyed traveling. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, from 10 A. M. until 12 P. M. at Glenfield Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery at 2 P. M. on Saturday. Brother David Laman will officiate.Survivors include one son, John Stephen Bell of Memphis; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bell, of New Albany; one step-son, Delaine Wilson, of Thaxton; one brother, John Ray Cobb, of New Albany; two sisters, Evelyn Surratt, of Ridgeland, Mississippi, and Ethelyne Wiseman, of New Albany; three grandchildren, Kim Hardin, Angie Brown, and Jason Wilson; and six great grandchildren.Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, H. D. Bell.
