Joey "Bud" Black, 35, died at his residence, Tuesday, January 30, 2018. He was born September 4, 1982, the son of Alvie Black, Jr. and Betty Medlin Black. Joey was a truck driver and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held 6 until 8 P. M., Thursday at Glenfield Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 A. M., Friday, at the funeral home with burial following in Glenfield Memorial Park. Brother Bubba Childress will officiate. Pallbearers are T. J. Hogue, Benjamin Briggs, Jordan Clifton, Hunter Clifton, Courtney Holliday, Lauren Briggs, and Emily Briggs. He is survived by his mother, Betty Black of New Albany; two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth and Lessie Jo Black both of New Albany; his dog, Prissy Jean Black; and three sisters, Lynn Cobb (Mike), Shari Briggs (Jeff) all of New Albany, and Janet DeCanter (Kevin) of Ripley; and his mules and ponies. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvie Black, Jr.; his grandparents, Joe and Jewel Medlin and Alvie Black Sr, and Mildred Black. Joey is now safe in the arms of Jesus.
