Jimmy Floyd Garrett, 80, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Baptist Memorial North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born in New Albany on November 23, 1939, the son of the late Fred and Sadie Bolton Garrett. Mr. Garret was a veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of Amaziah Baptist Church, and a retired electrician. He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Dale Garrett of Blue Mountain and Eugene (Tiny) Garrett of New Albany; four brothers, Roy Garrett of Illinois, Holland Garrett of New Albany, Bobby Garrett of Blountville, Tennessee, and Jerry Garrett of Tupelo; one sister, Diane Smith of Benton, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Tonya Ash and Brian McDonald; and four great-grandsons, Ethan McDonald, Dylan McDonald, Garrett Ash, and Peyton Ash. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A. M., Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with Brother Jason Howell, officiating. Visitation will held from 9:00 A. M. until service time, Saturday at the Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Thomas Mayo, Freddie Mayo, Heath Frayser, Adam Cornelius, Lawrence Mask, and Gary McCollum. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Ethan McDonald, Dylan McDonald, Garrett Ash, and Peyton Ash.
