Jerry Leon Lee age 85 of New Albany MS passed away Thursday March 9, 2023 at his home in New Albany, MS.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 Am at Glenfield Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 Am in the Glenfield Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Glenfield Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Jeff Lawrence will officiate the services.
Jerry was born October 31, 1937 to Ralph and Floyd Dee Sanford Lee in Knownville, MS. He married Peggy Cook September 16, 1957 in Hickory Flat, MS. Jerry was an automobile technician by trade and had worked at Tutor Ford until they closed, he then worked for Buck and Ford Motor in Ripley until his retirement in 2001 due to health concerns. He was known as one of the best car mechanics in the area.
Jerry enjoyed fishing and working on vehicles, but his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and Peggy attended Faith Assembly of God for many years but recently became members of Bethlehem Methodist Church. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family says he was the life of the party always cracking jokes and making people laugh. He enjoyed life to it's fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Flyod Dee Lee, sisters; Marie Sanford, Yvonne Martin, brothers; Lamar Lee, Larry Lee, Quitman Lee and Leonard Lee.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Peggy Lee of New Albany, daughter Kathy Ann Lee Russell of New Albany, son Jerry Dewayne Lee of New Albany, MS, brother Lester Tate Lee of Aurora, IL, 6 grandchildren; Trent Russell, Evan Russell, Torrie Willard, Jared Lee, Jacob Lee, Jessica Lee, 7 great grandchildren; Walter Russell, Rhiannon Russell, Raena Lee, Roman Lee, Emma Kate Willard, Addie Reese Willard and Jackson Cade Willard.
Pall bearers will be Roman Lee, Jared Lee, Walter Russell, Jimmy Surber, Kenny Cook, William Cook.
