Charles "Eddie" Medlin

Charles "Eddie" Medlin, aka Head, 70, passed away on February 15, 2025, in New Albany, MS.

Eddie was born on June 26, 1954, in Aurora, IL, to Houston Medlin and Betty Smith.

Eddie graduated from W.P. Daniel High School in 1972. He served a few years in the U.S. Navy, before starting his life-long career in furniture manufacturing. 

Eddie met his first wife, Portia Peralta, in the Philippines, while in the Navy. They raised two daughters. Portia passed away in 2005.

Eddie and Sandra (Rakestraw) Palmer married November 20, 2009.

Eddie enjoyed playing golf with the Ol' Boys and spending time with his family. He danced to the beat of his own music and never missed out on a chance to bust a move. He would use every inch of a dance floor. 

Eddie is survived by his wife, Sandra Medlin; daughters, Lydia (Jeremy) Mills and Charlie (Keegan) Porch; stepchildren, Rebecca (Cole) Wilkerson, Chris (Ashley) Palmer, and Adam (Brandie) Palmer; siblings, Carol Rodgers, Don Medlin, Rickey (Melody) Medlin, Betty Anne Potts, Kenny Potts, and Brenda (David) Richey; mother, Betty Smith; parents-in-law, Buddy and Wanda Rakestraw; and grandchildren, Isaiah Sheffield, Emma Sheffield, Connor Sheffield, Camden Palmer, Ainsley Porch, Kyla Porch, Gunner Porch, Cutter Porch, Copper Porch, Nadily Mills, Claudia Mills, and Jeremiah Mills. 

Eddie is preceded in death by his first wife, Portia Medlin; parents, Houston and Callie Mae Medlin and Gene Smith; brother, Jimmy Dale Medlin, and son-in-law, Kenny Sheffield.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM -3:00 PM, with a celebration of life to follow at 3:00 PM. All will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. 

Pallbearers will be Sam Palmer, Joe Palmer, Tyler Palmer, Michael Medlin, DJ Medlin, and Kagan Garrison. 

Glenfield Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care and arrangements of Mr. Medlin.
