Donald Lee Mayo, 70, died Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was born on October 11, 1946, in Memphis, the son of the late Walter and Margaret Mayo. Don served his country in the Marine Corps Reserves, was a member of Keownville Baptist Church, a member of Hell Creek Hunting Club, and a member of Redman Tournament Trail. He had worked for L&N Railroad, and had been self employed as a residential and commercial building contractor, and an independent insurance adjuster. A memorial service will be held at 11 A. M., Friday, December 30, 2016, at Glenfield Funeral Home, with Brother Randy Bynum officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 A. M. until service time on Friday. Survivors include his wife of fifty one years, Carol Mayo of New Albany, a daughter, Tracy Mitchell (Greg) of Myrtle; two sons, Shannon Mayo (Mendi) of New Albany, and Matthew Mayo (Terri) of Madison, MS; eleven grandchildren, Easton Hall, Elleigh Hall, Gavin Mitchell, Garen Mitchell, Claudia Mayo, Mary Claire Mayo, Maggie Mayo, Aubrey Bryant, Alexis Mayo, Addison Mayo, and Owen Mayo; and one great granddaughter, Swayze Hall.
