Ima Jean Thomas

 Ima Jean Thomas, 74, died Sunday, October 9, 2016, at North Ms Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on January 23, 1942, in Union County, the daughter of Quitman and Edith Thomas. Ms. Thomas was a retired nurse and had worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. She was a member of New Oak Grove Baptist Church.    Services will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at 2 P. M. at Glenfield Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Glenfield Memorial Park. Brother Larry Harrison will officiate. Pallbearers will be Will Dees, Gene Thomas, Barry Mathis, Steve Thomas, Jason Thomas, and Hugh Thomas.    Survivors include two sisters, Peggy Mathis (Jack, Sr.) of New Albany, Edith Dees of Myrtle, three brothers Carol Thomas (Fran) of Union City, TN; Travis Thomas (Carolyn) of Myrtle, and John Thomas (Annette) of Greers Ferry, AR; and numerous nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, James Issiac, Harold, Hugh, Bill, and Lee Thomas.
