Billy Joe "Bill" Turner, 82, was born in Arkansas on March 11, 1934, the son of James Willard and Hildred Veola Wiggington Turner. He died on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at his residence near Pinedale. Mr. Turner was a retired owner/operator in the trucking industry. He was also a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Pinedale Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Visitation will be on Monday at the church from 10 A. M. until noon. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery. Brother Terrell Permenter will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Jim Turner, Ronnie Ponder, Richard Boyer, Roger Butler, Joseph Tremblay, and Billy Lane Turner. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Willard and Ben Willard. Glenfield Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include five sons, Bill Turner (Anita) of Olive Branch, George Turner of Olive Branch, James Turner of Pinedale, Bo Turner (Robin) of Pinedale and Tim Turner (Melissa) of Enterprise; two brothers, Roy Turner of California and Walter Collins of Missouri; three sisters, Maxine Brown of Missouri, Jeanne Jensen of Arizona, and Patty Baker of California; fourteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicky Griffin; three brothers, Charles, Troy, and J. B. Turner; and one sister, Mavis Weegis.
