Leroy Cornelius

INGOMAR - Leroy Cornelius, 89, was born in Union County on June 27, 1926, the son of C. B. and Katherine McBryde Cornelius. He died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. Mr. Cornelius was a Baptist and a farmer. He loved working his garden, farming, and being with family and friends. Services will be 11 A. M.., Wednesday, at Glenfield Funeral Home with burial following in Ingomar Cemetery. Bro Tim McMillen and Bro Tony Baker will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 P. M. until 8 P. M. Survivors include son, James (Sonny) Cornelius (Amanda); four daughters, Dianne Jernigan (Dale Rakestraw), Brenda Campbell (Eddie), Sandra Allred (Joe) and Virginia Sloan (Charles Jr.) all of New Albany; sister, Ann Scott of Dothan, Alabama; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Boyd and Bobby G. Cornelius.
