Claylene M Benefield

Claylene M. Benefield, 84, was born in Lafayette County on March 7, 1932. She died at her residence in New Albany on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Mrs. Benefield was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a registered nurse, and gave care to patients for 40 years, first at Shand's Hospital and then at Union County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Benefield was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband of fifty six years, Milton Benefield, and she was preceded in death by her mother, Frances McLaughlin. Funeral services will be held at 11 A. M., on Monday, at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany, with burial following in Vista Memorial Park. Brother Clyde Pound and Brother Randy Hamilton will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 P. M. until 8 P. M. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Robison of New Albany and her grandson, Chuck Robison, also of New Albany. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
